Part 5 - Resting by Faith
Overview: Rejection of God's Works
Synopsis
Psalm 95 continues about unbelief in the Creator: "When your fathers
tested Me; They tried Me, though they saw My work" (Ps. 95:9). The
children of Israel
rebelled even though "they saw My work." God considers the witness of His
past works to be a cause for present faith. A second trait of unbelief is to
discount the plan and purpose of the Creator. The unbelieving
Hebrews who perished in the wilderness did
so in part by discounting the witness of God's past work. Jesus Christ's
completed work is a testimony to the world today. God's work in creation,
His work in Israel's redemption, and His work in the world's redemption is a
cause for present faith, for it shows the plan of the Creator and His
judgment as to the course of His creation.
