Part 5 - Resting by Faith
Overview: No Rest
Synopsis
Psalm 95 concludes with God's testimony about the unbelieving: "For forty
years I was grieved with that generation, And said, 'It is a people who go
astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.' So I swore in My
wrath, 'They shall not enter My rest.' " The people, having rejected the
person and plan of God, also rejected the righteousness of God. They
went astray in their hearts and chose their own ways instead of God's ways.
A third trait of unbelief is the determination of righteousness that is
according to one's own understanding. There is a peace and rest freely
available through Christ, but it is given only to those who will repent and
turn to the person of God, the plan of God, and the righteousness of God.
