Part 3 - The Fall and the Restoration
Overview: The Model of Restoration: Commandment Three
Synopsis
God has revealed Himself to us in His name. Yahweh, meaning "the
Self-Existent One," is used in compound forms to signify God as the One who
becomes to us all that we need. The Third Commandment is that this name is
not to be taken in vain. God by His name has revealed that He is
sufficient and complete to those who come to Him. Under His name He desires faith and trust in
Him. The model of restoration from the fall in this aspect concerns the
mind of man. Man elevated his own understanding above God's. A restored relationship involves man
once again submitting to God's understanding through faith and trust.
