Part 5 - Resting by Faith
Overview: The Blood of the Covenant: Fully Efficacious
Synopsis
Chapter six of Hebrews gives a practical teaching in walking in the faith
necessary for entering a rest in Jesus Christ. The faith it points to is one
that depends upon the full efficacy of the shed blood of Christ. The writer
gives two reasons for going forward in faith: a believer cannot go
back and be saved a second time, and a believer has the promise of
blessing that comes not through the Law but through Christ. The believer is
to go forward, taking up the faith and patience of Abraham, who believed the
promise of God. This same promise provides the path of blessing through
Christ to every believer.
