The Lord by wisdom founded the earth;
By understanding He established the heavens.
Prov. 3:19

Part 3 - The Fall and the Restoration

Overview: Loving God With All One's Strength

Synopsis

Because self-righteousness precludes receiving the righteousness of Christ, Jesus gave the meaning of the Fourth Commandment with the words, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your strength." This is agape love that gives way to God's strength rather than one's own strength. "Let not the mighty man glory in his might," but let him glory in God's strength. The fallen and rebellious nature of man causes him to desire the glory of being righteous by his own doing. Restoration in Christ is a place of rejecting self-glory and glorying in God's strength, which brings righteousness in the earth.
