Part 2 - The Sanctifying Work of Christ
Overview: Separated in the Rule of Christ
Synopsis
Separation is mentioned twice in day four of creation. God created lights
"to divide the day from the night" and "to divide the light from the
darkness." A separation is caused by different relationships to the sources
of light which God made. As a type of the sanctifying work of Christ, this
separation models the different dominions that are over those in the light
and those in darkness. Those who are saved have the light of Christ and are
said to be "of the day." These are under the grace of Christ, who directly
rules over His church as a husband in marriage. Those in darkness are under
the dominion of another light, this being the light of the law and the
prophets, a rule of condemnation.
