Overview: Separated in the Light of Christ
Synopsis
One aspect of the finished and sanctifying work of Christ is the giving
of light through the Holy Spirit. God's people are set apart from the world
in that they have the light of the knowledge of God. Paul the Apostle
correlates this to the first day of creation: "For it is the God who
commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to
give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus
Christ." Thus Jesus said, "I am the light of the world."
