Overview: The Creation of the Church
Synopsis
The Old Testament scriptures are testifying of Jesus Christ. Contained in
these scriptures are types and models that foreshadow realities concerning
Christ. Of such is the Sabbath Day. It points to a rest found in the person
and work of Jesus Christ. The creation of the nation of Israel, where in the
Exodus a special nation was established by God, is a model of another
creation work, the work of creating and sanctifying the Church. As God set
apart Israel, so too is the Church sanctified by the work of Christ.
